Waka Whetu

Waka Whetu is a team project that evolved over 12 weeks in early 2024.  In partnership with the design team at Tuhura Otago Museum a small group of us designed and produced an interactive exhibition telling the story of Matariki the cluster of stars that identify the start of Māori New Year. This exhihbition includes a film screening in the Museum’s Planetarium - 10 short student films about Matariki.

My role in the design team was to design and produce ten glowing stars, a main feature of the exhibition.
This project was challenging, with tight timeframes and real world outcomes.  I learned a lot about working closely in a team, the logistics of exhibition design and  I believe that created a wonderful experience for people to enjoy.
